ABOUT TEKTURNA HCT

Tekturna HCT has two FDA-approved prescription medications in one convenient tablet to help you lower your blood pressure.

If you are taking medication to lower your blood pressure but you are still not meeting your blood pressure goal, you're not alone. In fact, more than half of all adults with high blood pressure need more than one prescription medication to reach their blood pressure goals. Talk to your doctor about what blood pressure numbers are right for you and if Tekturna HCT may be an option.

Tekturna HCT combines Tekturna with the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), to help you get to your goal.

In a study, when Tekturna was combined with HCTZ, also called a water pill, blood pressure was reduced more than when either Tekturna or HCTZ was taken alone.

The two medications in Tekturna HCT work to lower high blood pressure in two different ways.

1. Here's how the Tekturna component works:
Renin is an enzyme in the body that can cause high blood pressure. It does this by starting a process that makes blood vessels narrow.
Tekturna binds directly to renin and interrupts the process that narrows the blood vessels.
Tekturna keeps blood vessels open so blood pressure is lowered.

2. Here’s how the diuretic component works:
Diuretics, also called water pills, cause sodium and water to move out of the body (through urination).
This reduces blood volume, which can help lower blood pressure.
